You guys are awesome and what you have done is amazing*
I just don't understand why we have races with such a background story like the amarr and minmitar war, when we are fighting together while fight each other at the same time.... :/ In a match on one team there will be at least one person from each race... Why would minmitar fight alongside amarr.. Even further... Why would he/she help the amarr in killing another minmitar?
Shouldn't it be minmitar players fight with minmitar, amar fight with amar, galante fight with .. You get the point. And if we hate each other why would we use each others equipment. If I were minmitar (witch I am on my other account)... I'd never wear amarr dropsuits and use amar rifles. (witch seems to be what I will need to do soon - buy the scrambler rifle) Unless you release the minmitar rifles and all factional items.
I cant wrap my head around it :'( you made such good stories with gripping backgrounds and realistic tales of what happend when new Eden opened... But yet we fight together and kill each other... I can understand *ish* using another races weapons but at more of a cost. Sp and ISK wise. But not actually being a caldari fighting with gallente and minmitar it just shouldn't be that way.
Because you're not just Amarrian, Matari, Caldanese, or Gallente anymore. You're a mercenary, a muddy version of a Capsuleer. You go beyond race, beyond creed, beyond death.
It's up to you and only you to decide what you want to do, where you want to go, and why you want to do it. And just because you're one race doesn't mean you're relegated to that race's equipment. So just because you see a Minmatar Logistics suit, doesn't mean the Merc isn't a Caldanese.
Basically, your.. er.. idea (?) would be totally constraining and not fun for anyone at all. If you can't cross train, or you can't cross train easily then a lot of people will up and leave the game when they decide they started with the wrong race for what they like. One of EVE's selling points has been that no matter what race you are and what you originally chose as your profession, NOTHING forces you to stay in that race's equipment or stay in that profession (Unlike choosing a Night Elf mage for example in a different MMO, where that character is a Night Elf Mage forever). Being an Amarr pilot, you can always change over to using Matari ships if you prefer them. This same design concept applies to DUST.
Make a role playing corp if you want to see more Race vs Race backstoryish stuff, make it yourself. There are plenty already in EVE and I'm sure there will be some to come in DUST. |
